Brotherhood
Reader might have a brother. He might not. He might have a masculine character, that assists him, protects his back, would fight for him. Isn’t that the isolated measure of a man’s strength? Action? Name a man you’d act for. Name a man you’d put yourself in harm’s way for. Brotherhood is recognizing that you’d take such a loss, that refuting your brother’s kindnesses, love, honor, would be a greater pain than anything you can bear.
It is quite the honor to have a brother. To find such a good man to measure yourself equal to. That man that makes himself better for the betterment of your own equal. The man that for whom you’d go to Hell and back, lest you suffer yourself a coward. The man, that you’d know offer his blood as payment for your own redemption. A brother, a real brother, is worth the world, is worth the weight of the soul.
